Did you
ever wonder how mom feels when her puppies find a new
home.
|
What?
The puppies leave? Where do they go? |
After all of that
....Love and Devotion. Flesh of my Flesh. Blood, Sweat &
Tears. You tell me they grow up and go away? You've got
to be Joking, right?

Let me tell you
How We helped Cookie
understand that
the kids left home.

One day the new
Mother of Amigo asked if she could take him to the pet store to
get a couple of items for him, now Amigo was only 8 weeks old but I
felt he could go out for an hour or so. I granted her request,
knowing that he would be home soon. However, I forgot to ask
Cookie.
She had no idea
where Amigo was and she panicked!
Cookie became
Manic! She searched the house over. She searched the back
yard. Amigo knew how to use the doggie door. Cookie kept
running in and out of the doggie door. Then one time she just
didn't come in. I went to look for her and found her in the
jacuzzi! I scooped her up and used the hair dryer to dry her
off. After we were finished, Amigo came home. What a
frightening experience.
It is so hard to let
someone else raise the puppy that you brought in to this
world. This is your baby. If you already have a
Chihuahua, you know how much love and attention they require.
It is not fair to have too many Chihuahua's because you can not give
each and everyone of them the amount of attention they need and
deserve.
I found the most loving
homes for Amigo and Star. Someone to hold them, Someone to
kiss them. Someone to take them every where they go.
Someone who made them feel that they are the most important person
in their lives. But how can i convince Cookie of
this?
Then it struck me.
I'll let Cookie say good-bye. When the puppy left, I took
Cookie out to the car, she seen her puppy in the car, we rolled down
the window and let her kiss it good-bye. Then I allowed Cookie
to watch the car leave until it was no longer in
sight.
IT
WORKED
Cookie did not look for the
puppy. She did not cry. She did not morn. She went
about her business. After the last puppy left, she was not
lonely.
Instead, Cookie started
acting like the puppy she was. Cookie, played. Cookie
had no more responsibilities. All of the extra time Cookie now
had became Pepe's. They played together like they did before
the puppies came. They look and act so in
Love.
Cookie plays dress up

She is always giving you
kisses.
Pepe Loves having his wife
back.
Empty nesters
yes.
Lonely, I don't think
soooo.
